Freya Lily

is the name under which I write, record, produce and release mostly instrumental music.

You can often find my work on BBC Sounds Mindful Mix Sleeping Forecast podcast, sometimes going viral on TikTok, used in films, in music libraries and on BBC 6 Music. I’m always happy to chat about possible commissions and collaborations so get in touch if you want to know more.

Shiver - a piano track with a life of its own.

I wrote a little sketch, an exercise when I was in the studio - chucked it up as my first Tik Tok video without thinking. This tiny clip filmed on an iPhone went viral and now it’s featured as a sample in songs with 5 million streams, the full song on 600,000 streams and climbing.

Nature’s Energy, my 15-minute composition for string quartet and choir -

- a commission funded by National Lottery Heritage Fund, Arts Council England, The Leche Trust and The Michael Tippett Musical Foundation.

Performed by members of the 12 Ensemble (Wigmore Hall residency artists) and London Contemporary Voices (collaborators with everyone from Elbow to Jools Holland).

BBC Sounds Mindful Mix. I love the concept of these and I love being featured on them.

They mix the soothing sounds of the shipping forecast with peaceful piano - and to someone who grew up on the coast - they feel like home.
